My process is intuitive, a natural balance of your intention and my vision. A conversation, hopefully not just a transaction. I'm creating art for you, before we even begin the etching. Please keep this in mind when you decide to book with me. I'm trusting you to trust me. Please be as clear as possible when describing your vision, this includes but not limited too.. stylistic details, honest limits, points of importance, abstract elements, realistic sizing, etc.

What is your hourly rate? Does the deposit get used for the appointment?

My rate is a firm $250 an hour for tattooing. If the stencil time goes past an hour, then I charge $150 an hour afterwards for that time. The deposit is taken to cover my designing time, and yes will be taken off the total cost of the tattoo. If you decide you don’t want to move forward with the tattoo, the deposit is non-refundable.

Do I get to see the design before arriving to the appointment ?

I do not typically send out drafts prior to our appointment, but can accommodate if it’s a large-scale project or there’s significant anxiety. Please note, much of my process plays out in person the morning of our session. I’ll have a design ready for you but will likely want to draw-on you since my designs are so form fitting. The design will change, evolve and adapt when we are together in-person. This is a magical and potent period of time, and I encourage my clients to wait to see the design so we can enter this space together and communicate in-person about any changes and adjustments.

How much can we get done in one sitting?

A lot depends on placement, complexity of the design, negative space, and of course, client tolerance. Typically, my session are around 4-6 hours long. Pre-drawn projects contain a session estimate in the listing, and customs can be discussed once we’ve fleshed out the concept through e-mail or phone. If you’re hoping for a larger piece, be prepared to sit for multiple days (ex: an entire back, thigh, sleeve, etc.)

Can I book multiple days in a row instead of making multiple trips?

In most cases, yes, and I will chat with you about this via email before you book to make sure we are on the same page about the commitment required to complete the piece.

What if I tap out once I’m there? Can I choose to make another trip instead of sitting for another day?

Absolutely. Listening to your body is the most important thing you can do to make sure your piece heals as well as possible.

Can I use pre-appointment numbing cream before our session ?

I don’t recommend using pre-appointment numbing cream.

Do you guest spot often ?

Yes, I love to travel and do guest spots ! I visit Portland, Maine frequently as well as Asheville, North Carolina, and Ojai, California. Please sign up for my newsletter if you’d like to be informed when I open my books.
